PURE HARMONY LAVENDER
Lavandula dentata ‘Pure Harmony’
Lavandula dentata ‘Pure Harmony’ gives a cool ghostly glow to the garden all year round.
With soft, velvety white flower stems for many months above grey felty foliage.
The whole shrub has a fresh, herby lavender scent.
‘Pure Harmony’ is a superior, white flowered selection of French Lavender.
Otherwise it is just as easy to grow, drought resistant, frost hardy and water-wise as more traditional French Lavenders.
Lavandula dentata ‘Pure Harmony’ provides excellent cut flowers and fragrance, either harvested fresh or dried for sachets.
Plant in full sun and a well-aired position. Enjoys coastal and windy sites, well drained or sandy soil, and life in a pot.
‘Pure Harmony’ is a low maintenance, evergreen garden asset - requiring only an annual prune after flowering and an occasional, light feed with a slow-release fertilizer.
It grows better, and blooms more ghostly and fragrant in less fertile conditions.
Nepeta x faassenii 'Snowflake'
Nepeta x faassenii 'Snowflake' is as tough as an old boot and makes a great groundcover for a hot spot.
It covers itself with snow white heads in spring and early summer and will quickly come back with another blooming period if you cut it back hard after flowering.
Nepeta x faassenii 'Snowflake' makes a permanent mound of pretty, and refreshingly scented, grey-green foliage.
So, it is ideal for edging a garden bed; underplanting roses where it is a traditional companion plant to help repel insect pests; and binding a bank. Or it looks cool draping over the edge of a pot.
Plant in full sun and a well-aired position.
Snowflake Catmint enjoys coastal and windy sites, well drained or sandy soil, and life in a pot.
It is prized by gardeners where water is limited.
‘Snowflake’ is a low maintenance, evergreen garden asset.
It responds well to a cut-back after flowering and only an occasional, light feed with a slow-release fertilizer.
It is better grown in less fertile conditions.
Penstemon ‘Snowstorm’ is the perfect Penstemon for any size garden.
As it blooms for many months from late spring until late in autumn, with spires of large, white trumpets.
Native honey-eating birds and bees find it irresistible as a source of nectar food; while gardeners love the continuous flower display for garden show and vases of cut flowers.
Neat, upright, rounded grower making a 60-75cm high x 50-60cm wide evergreen clump.
Penstemon ‘Snowstorm’ is a low maintenance and permanent perennial plant which only requires a cut back after blooming finishes in early winter or early spring. Then it bounces back into months of bloom.
Fertilize with a slow-release fertilizer in spring and summer.
Penstemon ‘Snowstorm’ is not a thirsty plant and can perform well on only minimal additional water over hot periods. It also performs well in a pot.
And responds enthusiastically if treated to a summer mulch and some organic matter added to the soil.
Penstemon ‘Snowstorm’ is frost hardy and a very reliable garden performer.
CADET WHITE VERBENA
Verbena 'Cadet White'
Verbena ‘Cadet White’ is a new improvement on a hardy old garden favourite.
Verbenas have always been popular for their long blooming, easy growing, garden hardiness.
But Verbena ‘Cadet White’ takes it up to a new level.
Long blooming with a continuous supply of snow-white flower heads right over the warm months.
And forming a ground-cover mound of deep green, neat little leaves – perfect for garden edging or pots, 20-25cm high and wide.
‘Cadet White’ begins blooming earlier, keeps on giving for longer, and has improved disease resistance.
So, it is a low maintenance, easy growing plant; bees and butterflies love it for nectar; it is frost hardy and happy in either full sun or partly shaded conditions.
Verbena ‘Cadet White’ responds enthusiastically to fertilizer over spring and summer with an even thicker carpet of flower heads.
